About Perri strawn, phd 

Perri Strawn, PCC, PhD, is an executive coach and leadership development expert specializing in coaching senior executives and high-potential leaders.  Perri works with clients on a highly customized basis, partnering with them to clarify a coaching topic and to identify a specific set of agreed-upon goals and objectives for the coaching engagement.  Perri then helps them identify immediate solutions as well as practical approaches to build their capacity as leaders.  Past coaching topics have included executive presence, communication, emotional intelligence, influence, organizational savvy, leading change, and  strategic vision.

Perri has worked with leaders across diverse industries, including health care, higher education, technology, and professional services.  In her 17+ years as an executive at The Advisory Board Company in Washington, DC, she was instrumental in launching the firm’s leadership development business, designing and delivering curriculum for hospital executives. She also helped launch the firm’s higher education practice, bringing best practices in leadership and strategy to university administrators. Starting in 2012, she provided executive coaching to a select group of the firm’s internal leaders, and designed programs to support growth of the firm’s mid- and senior-level leaders. She is a skilled teacher and facilitator and regularly leads sessions on leadership resilience and difficult conversations, among other topics.

Perri holds a BS in Journalism from Northwestern University and an MA in East Asian Studies and a PhD in social-cultural anthropology, both from Yale University. She is certified in integral coaching from New Ventures West, where she also serves as adjunct faculty. She is a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation.
